Alma Blanche O’Quinn January 25 1952 April 20 2021

Alma’s Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital with her family by her side after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer, Alma Blanche O’Quinn of Blaketown, aged 69 years.
Predeceased by parents, David and Elizabeth (Dawe) Osbourne; sisters, Rose (Murdock) and Lizzie (Percey); brother, Alfred (Karen).
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of memories are her husband of 48 years, Ralph; daughters, Lisa (Marty) and Betty (Bernie); 7 grandchildren who she loved and treasured with all her heart, Kennedy, Olivia, Skylar, Madison, Emily, Jesse-Lynn, and Jase. Alma also leaves behind her sisters, Mary (Patrick) and Dawn (Gordon); brother, Bill (Margaret); as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
Alma was a very quiet and private person but anyone who knew her knows how much she loved her family and that was what was most important to her. It didn’t matter if it was a sitting around the living room watching her game shows, going for ice cream with the grandkids, or just chillin’ in the garage on a Saturday night with family and friends, those were the things she loved the most.
She worked many hard years in the fish plant where she met many amazing people along the way. She finished her career in 2017 after working at Monty’s Restaurant for 7 years once she received her cancer diagnosis.
Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. In particular, Dr. Renee Lester, Dr. Angela Hyde, Dr. Asim Kamren, and Dr. Susan McDonald; as well as the doctors and nurses at the Dr. W.H. Newhook Community Health Centre, Whitbourne, Public Health, Whitbourne and the Carbonear Hospital Emergency Department.
Also thank you to the staff at Diagnostic Imaging at St. Clare’s, Health Sciences Centre, Janeway, Dr. W.H. Newhook Clinic, and especially Carbonear General Hospital. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Special thanks to her family doctor, Dr. Renelle Butt. Your support, kindness, and exceptional care was truly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
Finally, a special thank you to the nursing staff on the 7th floor of the Carbonear General Hospital who cared for her beyond measure and kept her comfortable in her final days. Thank you so very much.
Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, the visitation and service to celebrate Alma’s life will be private.
