Allan James Boyd 19442021

Allan James Boyd
1944-2021
Boyd, Allan James, age 76, of Lakevale, Antigonish County,
passed away on January 6, 2020, in St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Myles and
Marguerite Boyd.
Allan was a wonderful and endearing husband, a loving father
and grandfather, and the best stepfather someone could hope
for. He was very close to his siblings and loved them
dearly. He worked for over 30 years at the Dr. John Hugh
Gillis Regional High School as head custodian. Allan was
very active in his church and his community, always there to lend a
helping hand, and he was also a strong supporter of the Progressive
Conservative Party. He loved fishing and boating on the
Hunky Dorey and working in the woods along side his brother,
Carroll. Allan was also a proud member of AA for 18
years.
He is survived by his wife, Vonnie (Kell); son, James,
Calgary; daughter, Allana (Alec), Cochrane, AB; stepson, Garry;
grandchildren, Marguerite and Jack; brother, Carroll (late Margaret
Ann), Lakevale; sister, Marian (Bill) Crawford, Lakevale; and many
nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.
Predeceased by his brother, Donnie; sister, Ann Marie, in
infancy; and grandson Sebastian, in infancy.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no public
visitation and a private family funeral will be held in St. Columba
Church in Lakevale, with burial in the parish cemetery. A
video of the funeral will be made available on the funeral
home’s website Monday afternoon.
In Memoriam, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St.
Columba Cemetery Fund appreciated. Online
