Allan D Junior Cameron 19322021

Allan D. “Junior” Cameron
1932-2021
Cameron, Allan D. “Junior”, age 88, of Cribbons
Point, Antigonish County, passed away on March 1, 2021, in St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Antigonish, he was son of the late Allan D. and
Catherine (MacLean) Cameron.
Junior graduated from St Francis Xavier
University in 1957 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He
was the Director of Finance at St. Martha’s Hospital for 35
years and served as town councillor in Antigonish for two
terms. He was an avid golfer and former member of the
Antigonish Golf and Country Club. He volunteered as a coach for the
local minor hockey and baseball teams for many years. In
1992, he received a medal from the Governor General, recognizing his
volunteer contributions during the 125th anniversary of the
Confederate of Canada.
After retirement, he moved to the cottage in Cribbons Point,
where he was always surrounded by family and friends. If you visited
the cottage, you left with a full belly from his famous cucumber
sandwiches. He was known for his sharp wit, kindness, generosity, and
for making people feel welcome. He loved his family more than
anything. Everything he did was for Margie, the kids, and his precious
grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margie (Cook);
children, Cathy (Robert) Johnson, Dartmouth; Margaret Ann (Andy Hirt),
Antigonish; Tricia, Antigonish; Allan (Rachel), Duncan, BC; Stephanie
(Craig) Pitcher, Bedford; grandchildren, Alexandra MacDonnell and
Sarah, Owen, and Sophie Pitcher; his brother, Saint John Cameron,
Yarmouth; and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved
dearly.
He is predeceased by his grandson, Robbie Johnson; brothers,
Donald, Owen, Ray, Blaise, Clarence, and Berkley; and sisters, Zita,
Rhoda, Adele, and Carmilita.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no
visitation and a funeral will be held in St. Columba Church, Lakevale,
when COVID restrictions have lifted.
In Memoriam, donations to the St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital Foundation and Children’s Wish Foundation
appreciated.
