Alice W DeVries (nee Ridder)
Born February 2, 1938, in Middenmeer Netherlands, Alice W DeVries passed away on October 30, 2021 in Strathroy, Ontario at the age of 83. Loving wife of John DeVries for 60 years. Greatly missed by her children Marg (Gary), Ralph (Sharon), Janice (Albert), John (Andrea) and Martin (Annette) her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Will be missed by her sisters, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and many nephews, nieces and friends.
Alice had a caring, loving and generous spirit. She loved her Lord and church and was involved in Coffee Break Women’s program for over 45 years. She was a strong proponent of Christian Education. She loved living at Trillium Village in Strathroy for the last 17 years and was an avid walker outside and inside the buildings. Her true happy place was her trailer at Lakewood Christian Campground.
Family and Friends will be received at Westmount Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will take place the following day at Westmount Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Strathroy Community Christian School. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
