Obituary of Alice J. Houwen
After 57 wonderful years of marriage, Gerard sadly announces that his beloved wife Alice passed away at their home on Friday November 19, 2021 at the age of 79. Cherished Mom of Brenda, (Dave Elliott), Teresa (Chris Naismith), Nancy (Mike Chretien) and Dan (Melissa Richard). Devoted Grannie of Ben (Amber), Joshua, Hannah, Evan, Katrina, Grace, Kyle, Kelsey, Jared, Elizabeth and Peyton. Proud great-grannie of Maverick.
Dear sister of Bernard (Jane), Diane Riopelle, Heather Clarke (Allan), Maurice and Kevin (Simone). Dear sister in law of of Maria (late Howard Kuehl), Gerarda Bertrand (Garnet), Toni (Wayne Doherty), Gertrude Brydges (late Charlie Ricard). Predeceased by her parents Ben and Helen Recoskie, sister Patricia and her sister-in-laws Wilhemena (late Arthur Blaskevitch), Johanna, and brothers-in-law Wilhelmus and Leonard. Alice will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Pinard and nurses Amy and Kerry; Fr. Lacey and Fr. Brennan for the wonderful care and support that they provided to Alice and her family throughout the last few months.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Renfrew on Monday November 22nd at 2:00 pm. Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
