Obituary
Alfred Morris Dixon, at the age of 94 years, passed away May 3, 2021 at the Palliative Care Unit of Nanaimo General Hospital.
Alfred ( Alf ) was born in Kamsack Saskatchewan, one of seven children of Calvin and Annie Dixon. Alf was predeceaded by his spouse Ruth and he was the last of the seven siblings to pass away. Alf had two sisters, ( Mary and Violet ) and four brothers ( Robert, Bill, Cal and Eddy ).
He is survived by three step daughters, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind several close friends who he enjoyed visiting when ever he had the opportunity.
Alf was an outgoing, carefree person who loved life, worked hard and enjoyed sharing his life experiences and knowledge with family and friends. His life was full of adventures, from crossing Canada via rail, spending time in the Royal Canadian Navy, to working numerous and various jobs in many small towns across Canada. In addition to travelling throughout Canada, he also spent a considerable amount of time travelling to various parts of Mexico and visitng many of the southern states of the USA. Alf’s hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and reading and always made time to help others.
