Gauthier, Aleta Adele – age 100, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2021, at the Meadows’s Home for Special Care. Born in Arcadia, Yarmouth Co., N.S. on June 17, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Cora (Surette) Deviller. Aleta was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Woman’s League. She is survived by her brother, Alfred; sisters, Emma, Jean and Irma. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Henry Gauthier; brothers Gerald, Herman, Lester and Arnold; and sisters, Neaomi and Eileen. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will take place Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 11 A.M. from St Ambrose Cathedral, with Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Interment will follow in the Melbourne Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest by her husband. Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory may be made to the Melbourne Cemetery.
