Obituary
Alesha Marie MacLeod, 44
Florence
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Alesha MacLeod, on Monday, June 14, 2021, at the Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on August 14, 1976, she was the oldest daughter of Pat (Collins) MacLeod and the late William (Bill) MacLeod.
Alesha graduated from Memorial Composite High School and continued her studies at CBU, where she made lifelong friendships. She was an old, wise soul with a dry humour, knowledgeable mind, and compassionate heart. She loved to read, anything from Maya Angelou to a good old Danielle Steel novel. Meditation was her go to, and she was a very spiritual person. Spending any time with Alesha, you left her presence calmer, wiser, and over all a better human being. Being a passionate person about injustice and human rights acts, she would stand up for anything or anyone she truly loved or felt was being wronged.
Her favourite pass-time was snuggling with her Emma Boo and Monkey Sophie, and doing makeup with Emma.
She leaves behind her mother Pat, her loving sister – her Thelma to her Louise – Stephanie, sister cousins Melissa and Heather Gracie, sister Jennifer, brother Matthew, brother-in-law Cory, her nieces, the lights of her life, proudest title “Auntie”, Emma and Sophie, nephew Xavier and niece Makenna.
Also left to mourn are her aunts and uncles Mary and Mick Gracie, John Collins, Ron (Linda) Collins, Butch Pero (Patsy), Shelia Lyle, Flo Pero and Eileen MacLennan, who each held a special place in her heart. She will be greatly missed by many of her cousins in her Pero Family, and close friends Joey, J.W., and Wade Bond.
Alesha is now resting with her Dad, Nana and Papa MacLeod, Grannie MacLeod and loving Uncle Dannie around the Tree of Life.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 24, 2021, for family only, in Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Donations in Alesha’s memory may be made to the Transition House or Women’s Shelters.
