Alan Clifford Macdonald passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26th surrounded by loved ones at Grand River Hospital.
Survived by the love of his life, wife Joan Macdonald and his children Sean Hannah, Kelly Hannah-Moffat, and Stephen Macdonald (and partner Elaine). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Kayla, Alexandra, Katie, Shane, Samantha, and Olivia and many dear friends. He has touched many lives and will be remembered always for his cleverness, stories, silly sense of humour and warmth. He was cherished and loved by all his ‘rough, tough cream puffs.’ Many treasured memories will live in our hearts.
Al (VA3TET) was a committed member of the Elmira Radio Club and earlier sang harmonies with the Twin City Harmonizers. He always stepped up to lend a hand to others.
Special thanks to his dear friend Hang Thuong and the staff at Grand River Hospital on 5th floor ACE and 6 South.
We are remembering a well-led life and all the joy it brought to so many. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, December 5 from 1 – 2:45 pm with the service beginning at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow in the Fireside Room. To attend, relatives and friends must RSVP at www.erbgood.com or by calling 519-745-8445.
Condolences for the family and donations to Bladder Cancer Canada (research) may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.

  1. Al was a wonderful neighbour. We will miss his stories and his kindness. Our three kids were fond of him and loved learning about the outdoors and nature from him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan and the family. May he Rest In Peace ❤️
