Obituary
On the afternoon of November 5, 2021, at the age of 82, Alan Patrick peacefully left this earth after battling cancer and dementia. Predeceased by his wife, Nina. Deeply missed by his partner Diana. Alan leaves behind his three loving children Maria and her husband Jerry Biggar, Graham and his wife Kendall, and Shelley and her husband Tim Roberts. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Janine, Hannah, Mya, the late Holly, Stacey (Stephen), Stefanie (Ryan), Cole and Zoey. Great-Grand children Ciara, Anika, Roan and Dyson. Alan retired as a welder for Ontario Hydro and looked forward to retirement. He enjoyed years of golfing, cycling, gardening, travelling, and enjoyed his winters spent in Florida. He will be dearly missed.
The family is thankful for the devotion and care Alan received from the doctors, nurses and support staff of unit 4-6 during his stay at Owen Sound Hospital and the staff at Kingsway Arms Elgin Lodge. The family would also like to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to the doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers at Chapman House for the care and compassion they provided to Alan in making his final transition a calm and peaceful one. The kindness and support the family received was very much appreciated and will not be forgotten.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222. A private family funeral service will be held with interment at Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Port Elgin.
Memorial donations to Chapman House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
