Alan James Sloan Tuesday September 7th 2021

SLOAN, Alan James – After a brave journey with cancer, Alan James Sloan passed peacefully at The Bridge Hospice in Warkworth, Ontario, Canada on Tuesday, 7th September 2021.
Alan approached his illness much like he approached everything in life: with a great spirit and determination. And of course, he never lost that incredible wit and humour of his throughout.
Alan is survived by his loving and devoted wife Adele of 39 joyous years, daughter Amanda, son-in-law Thom, sister Hilary, and brother Ian. He will continue to live on every day in their hearts through the incredible amount of stories and memories created together.
As per Alan’s wishes, Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be returning to his home country of Northern Ireland in the near future.
A Celebration of Life will be arranged in Alan’s honour at a later date in Canada and then in Northern Ireland. Family and friends will be notified in due course of these arrangements.
If desired, donations can be made in honour of Alan to The Bridge Hospice, a place he called ‘The Resort’ due to the exemplary care and comfort he received in the final days of his life, via the following link: thebridgehospice.com/donate/
The Sloan Family would like to thank you all for the love and support during this difficult time and would encourage you if you’re reading this with a tear in your eye, to pour a drink, raise a glass, and say a wee cheers to Alan.
Arrangements in care of the Brighton Funeral Home, 130 Main Street West, Brighton (613-475-2121).
