Adrian Joseph Smith 19492021

Adrian Joseph Smith
1949-2021
It is with great sadness the
family of the Late Adrian Joseph Smith announce his passing on Monday,
May 3rd, 2021 after a courageous battle with
Cancer at the age of 72. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving
memories are his daughters, Joanne (Tobin), Paula (Terry), Renee
(Manuel), and Robyn (Kenny). He will be greatly missed by his six
Grandchildren (his pride and joy); Evan; Alex; Lily; Jonah; Ayden; and
Zander. Also leaving to mourn is his brother Patrick and sister Irene
as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and
friends.
Adrian was predeceased by his
parents Cyril and Mary Smith, his wife of many years Mary Gerbig and
special friend Sheila Thorne.
Adrian was always good for a yarn
and a clever story that entertained his family and friends.
Although his sense of humor was often on display, his loved ones also
sought his wisdom and advice whenever they needed
guidance.
The family will be welcoming
family and friends on Wednesday May 5th, 2021
from the hours of 2-9 pm at Maher’s Funeral Home. A private
funeral service will take place on Thursday May
6th, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in Fox Harbour
at 11am with Father Charlie Kelly officiating.
The family would like to express a
sincere thank you to the home care workers who provided exceptional
care and compassion for Adrian, as well as the staff of the Palliative
Care unit of Placentia.
“Say
not in grief, ‘he is no more’ but in thankfulness
that he was.”
