Adam’s Obituary
HANLON, Adam – born June 13 1961 in Saint Catharines, Ontario, died suddenly in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, August 19 2021. He is survived by his wife Melinda (nee Molnar) of Budapest, Hungary, son Sean age 19 and daughter Laura, 17; by his siblings Greg (Anne), Mark, Jane and Brent, of Halifax and Ontario. He was a friendly uncle to Adrian (Rachel), Tassie (John), Amy (Shawn) and Andrew Thomson (Anna), Caitriona Hawthorne (Mackenzie), Matthew Hanlon and Ariane Hanlon (Simon), with all their children. Raised in Ontario’s Niagara region, Adam moved to Yarmouth with his family to work as a Provincial safety officer in 2013. Amiable and easy-going, he found small-town Nova Scotia very congenial and developed a fondness for the land, its people and its diverse economy which he came to know on his daily inspections. He will be sorely missed by all. A memorial service will be held at Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, on Friday, August 27 at 11:30 a.m. Please note that seating may be limited. Please use the side/parking lot entrance for the visitation. In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are required along with adherence to social distancing guidelines. In recognition of Adam’s fondness for colour, everyone is invited to wear bright-hued shirts and tops. In lieu of flowers, friends and family can donate to a trust fund for the children’s education.
