Obituary of Aaron Dingwell
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aaron Basil Dingwell, resident of Fort Nelson, British Columbia, on Friday, April 9, 2021 in Fort Nelson, BC at the age of 88 years. A Celebration of Aaron’s Life will be held at a later date with interment to follow in Newfoundland.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 66 years Patricia (Piercey) Dingwell and his children Donna (Jim), Gary (Beulah), Verna (Brian), Phyllis, Basil, Terri (Rob) and Jamie (Jen) and grandchildren Jamey, Gregory, Robert, Jason, Mandi, David, Robyn, Chris, Aaron, Ashley, Savannah, Tristen and Makenzie, as well as 9 great grandchildren. Also his sisters Phyllis (Chaulk) and Marina (Batten) and many nieces and nephews, and long time friends. He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Elfreda, sister Josephine (Pretty) and great grand daughter Farrah.
Basil was born Christmas day 1932 in Corner Brook and relocated to Fort Nelson in 1980 with his family for work. He called Fort Nelson home for more than 40 years. He was a man who loved the outdoors. Basil was often seen with either a shovel, ice pick, rake or water hose depending on the season. He loved playing and listening to old music or videos, and telling even older stories. There were many stories as he had a memory like an elephant.
Above all Basil loved being surrounded by his family and friends.
Forever remembered in our hearts.
For friends and family so wishing, donations in Aaron’s memory may be made to Alzheimers Society of British Columbia, #300 – 828 West 8 Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia, V5Z 1E2
