In Loving Memory
of
Thérèse Anita Roy (née Lefrançois)
1928 – 2021
Aged 92 passed away quietly at Extendicare Falconbridge on the evening of Monday, January 4th, 2021.
In Hanmer, on July 2nd, 1928, Thérèse was the youngest of 10 children born to parents Isaac and Angelique (née Harrison). Thérèse grew up surrounded by family in the Markstay and Rivière Veuve area. She married Jean-Paul Roy in September 1947, Thérèse was his cherished wife for 63 years, until his death in 2010, they raised 3 children together always staying close to Markstay, St Charles and Rivière Veuve area.
She was the loving mother of Robert predeceased 2020 (Kathy) and Josette predeceased 2016 (Fred, predeceased 1990). Thérèse is survived and deeply mourned by her youngest son, Jean-Guy. She was treasured by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are blessed to have countless memories of their special Mémère.
Thérèse had been residing at Extendicare for almost 5 years, since Josette’s death. The family wishes to thank the staff who took care of her, especially those who went above and beyond to give her extra love and cuddles. Jean-Guy would visit often and take her for rides up and down the halls, it was touching to see the smiles when she came around. Alzheimer’s may have taken her from us slowly but she could usually be found smiling and winking, she loved having visitors especially Jean-Guy.
A celebration of life will be held for Thérèse at a later date when we can again gather. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
