Obituary of Beverley Ann Black
BEVERLEY ANN BLACK
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Beverley Ann Black (nee Clarke) announce her peaceful passing on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 90. Beverley was the loving wife of Lloyd Black (1984), and daughter of Murray and Alma Clarke, as well as a sister to Reed Clarke, who all predeceased her. Loving mother to Mike and Marie Black, Doug and Betty Black, Steve and Linda Black, Linda and Mark Manning, Terry and Caroline Black, David and Karen Black and Susan Black. Beverley was a proud Nana to 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Born on December 1, 1930 in London, Ontario, Beverley attended both elementary and secondary school in London, and then Teacher’s College at the campus on Wortley Road. She taught elementary school for several years before her marriage in 1952 to Lloyd Black. Beverley was a full-time mom to her large family and later returned to teaching. She was always in her happy place when surrounded by children in her numerous classrooms. Beverley was an unwavering fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs as well as the Toronto Blue Jays. She enjoyed knitting, reading and some travelling. During her lifetime Beverley enjoyed the companionship of many dogs who all held a special place in her life.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic there will be no visitation or Funeral Service. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Beverley’s life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the London and Area Food Bank 926 Leathorne St., London, Ont. N5Z 3M5 or the London Humane Society 624 Clarke Rd, London, ON N5V 3K5.
