Obituary for
Faye Lorena Ernest (Thompson)
Ernest, Faye Lorena (Thompson) – Age 93, Bible Hill, passed away on April 20, 2021 in Debert Court – Shannex. She was a daughter of the late Russell and Inez Thompson and was born on her beloved Tatamagouche Mountain.
Faye is survived by her children, Heather (Dale) Tedford, Helen (Bob) Hutchinson, Darlene (Maurice) Denning, Bruce (Cathy) Ernest, Lorne Ernest, Virginia Ernest and Tracy (Ken) Langille; siblings, Iva, Margaret, Shirley, Kori (Oties), Joan, Clifford (Sandy); eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harry “Ern”; siblings, Alfreda, Lola, Glen, Roache; grandson, Jason; many in-laws and friends.
Faye was an extraordinary woman and condensing such a huge life into a few paragraphs is difficult. She proudly made military caps at Louis’ after moving to Truro in the 40’s. She was a caregiver until age 86 to clients often much younger than herself. Oh and what a cook and baker! Any job that she had, she tackled with zest, including being Mom to seven kids. Her stories, smile and laughter are a treasure that she left us all and she will live on forever in those.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the CEHHC Emergency Dept., floors D3 and E2 as well as Debert Court. Your kindness and exceptional care of Momma Faye will never be forgotten.
A Graveside service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
