Death announcement
RAMSAY, Wilfred Kenneth
Wilf died peacefully in his sleep after a short illness on Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home on Lake Nipissing’s South Shore. He was 76 years old. Wilf was the beloved husband of “Sue” Suzelle (Héroux) of Callander; the much-loved father of Allyson (Dean Owen) of Ajax, Stephanie of North Bay, Stacey (Craig Bawden) of North Bay, and Danielle (the late Neil Baxter) of Sudbury; and cherished grandfather of Natalie (Anshul), Lukasz, Lauren, Emma, Colter, Kylie, and Victoria. Wilf was predeceased by his parents Ellen (Brown) and Alan Ramsay, and fondly remembered by his siblings Joellen Brown (John) of Callander, Isabelle Ramsay (Brian) of Canmore, Alta, and Barry Ramsay (Rita) of Callander as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Wilf and Sue spent almost 30 years raising their family in Pickering where Wilf worked at the Pickering Nuclear Plant and spent most weekends in the winter months coaching Ringette for his daughters’ teams and in the summer months, umpiring and playing slo-pitch. After retiring to Lake Nipissing in 2000, Wilf spent most of his time fishing, curling, and building his famous Lake Nipissing Deck chairs in his workshop. He enjoyed life on the lake with family and friends and finally got in some International travel. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Wilf’s life will be announced at a later date. No flowers please.
