Blakeney, Laura Audrey – Age 75, of Lake Echo, passed away April 11, 2021 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in East Jeddore, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Nora (Baker) Freeman.
Laura was a dedicated church worker and thoroughly enjoyed running the church luncheons along with her husband, David and later with her niece, Elaine. She had a deep devotion to Evangeline Bible Camp in Debert.
Surviving are brothers, Weldon Hopkins, Ronald (Jennifer) Freeman, Leon Freeman; sisters, Muriel Cummings, Linda Freeman, Carol Freeman; brother-in-law, Walter (Marjorie) Blakeney; sisters-in-law, Pansy Maskell, Jean (Horst) Weisner; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David; sisters, Nora Hopkins, Frances Freeman; brothers, Glen Freeman, Maynard Hopkins; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hopkins; brother-in-law, Hurson Maskell.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral service will be by invitation only in Marine Drive Pentecostal Church with Pastor Scott Anderson officiating. Burial will be in West Jeddore Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Camp Evangeline.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
