Unexpectedly on April 17, 2021, Dennis Watson of Newmarket, formerly of Chatham, passed away at the age of 52.
Loving father to Alex and Sydnie Watson.
Cherished son of Graham and Carole Watson.
Dear brother of Karrie (Mike) Szabo.
Special uncle to Connor, Tyler and Courtney Szabo.
Treasured by aunts, uncles, and cousins
Brother from another mother to Andy Slaughter.
Predeceased by grandparents Mary (2016) and Bill (2010) Watson and Alex(1977) and Kay(2004) Hope.
Born January 1, he was Kent County’s first baby of 1969. Throughout his life, Dennis gave unselfishly to everyone with his outstanding generosity, warmth, kindness and leadership . He was a dedicated, hard worker. History and travel were of great interest to Dennis, who spent lots of time researching both. His successful business career included positions as Vice President of Reebok Canada, National Sales Manager of Coleman Canada, Vice President of Unisource Canada and as of late, Corporate Director Veritiv Canada. His life and legacy will be remembered with a golf tournament and celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021, presently only those who have pre-registered may attend, as available occupancy has filled. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario mandates that all those attending the visitation must wear a mask.
Due to the current situation with COVID-19, a Private Family Service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 with interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Those wishing to join the family for the funeral service may view the live-stream on the McKinlay Funeral Home website.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dennis to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto or the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
