Shirley Lois Grieve (funeral arrangements)
1937-2021
Shirley Lois Grieve of Harvey Station, York County, NB, passed away on
April 1, 2021 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She was born in New
Jerusalem, NB in 1937, a daughter of the late Leeland and Marguerite
(Stapledon) Adamson. In addition to her parents, Shirley was
predeceased by her only brother Walter. She is survived by four
children; two daughters Sheryl Grieve of Victoria, BC, and Sandra
Grieve of Wilkie, Saskatchewan, and two sons Lauren (Eun Joo Cho) and
Les Grieve, both of Fredericton, NB. She leaves four grandchildren,
Tyler, Corey, Sasha and Keaton; a sister-in-law, Margaret Adamson, and
several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a school teacher, military wife (divorced), mother,
caregiver, traveller, collector, churchgoer, singer, and avid reader
who studied history and scriptures with enthusiasm. She cherished the
fellowship of her church family, as well as the Friends and Fellowship
support group, and loved to dress up, go out to eat, and play board
and card games. She was renowned for her frugality, independence and
wit.
Shirley’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank
the numerous friends and family who have offered support during these
difficult times. Words cannot express our gratitude.
A celebration of life will be held at the Pentecostal Church, Harvey
Station, NB on Saturday, April 24, 2021. The doors will open at noon,
and the service will begin at 1:30 pm. Due to the ongoing Covid
pandemic, there will be no visitation, donations or reception, and
attendance will be limited to 50. Attendees must wear masks, and keep
their “bubbles” six feet away from other
“bubbles”.
