Jeannita Mary Belliveau (nee Vezina), died peacefully at home on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the age of 77 years.
Jeannita was the dear mother to Jacqueline Whalen (Patrick) and Daniel Belliveau; she was the cherished Grama to Lauren (Simon Parent), Kevin (Nicole Lachapelle), Emily (Brian Brown) and Soleil Belliveau-Leclaire; she was the loving sister to Raymonde Tessier (Jean), Maurice Vezina (Georgina) and Claudette St-Georges (the late Maurice). She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Bernadette Vezina. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, near and far.
Jeannita was born in Shediac, NB, and travelled the country with a military family, finally settling in Ottawa, where she raised her two children, and doted on her four grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and being surrounded by flowers and plants, and had a real love of nature. She loved to travel with her sisters to the Maritimes, and later to Prince Edward County. And she loved to laugh.
In her later years, Jeannita discovered the Internet, and loved searching for new recipes, funny stories, and connecting with dear friends through Facebook. She also loved to read, was a talented artist, and enjoyed crafts for many years of her life, and shared these gifts with family and friends. She had a knack for making any space warm and inviting, and always made others feel welcome.
May she forever be at peace. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. Lajeunesse, St. Elizabeth and Assurance Home Care staff for their compassionate care of Jeannita.
