Obituary for Martel ‘Marty’ Riley
With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Martel ‘Marty’ Patterson Riley, a member of Walpole Island First Nation on April 7, 2021 at the age of 29. Dear son of the late Kenneth and Joyce Mae (nee Blackbird) Riley and loving brother of Patrice Riley, Matthew Riley, Candy Greenbird, Kenneth Riley Jr., Brandi Riley, Candace Shipman, Misty Blackbird, Amanda Shipman, Marvin Shipman, Leonard Pinnance, Charmaine Shipman and the late Kendra Blackbird and Leroy Blackbird. Marty will be remembered by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends. Community visiting will be held at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 11am until 5pm. Community visiting will continue at Walpole Island Sports Complex on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 9:30am until 11:00am. A private funeral and burial will follow at Highbanks Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, reservations are required and may be made by clicking here > signup.com/go/RFNEmKC < or by calling the funeral home. If desired donations to the London Health Science Centre Cancer Centre may be left at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are mandatory.
