Sylvia McNabb Lohnes Tuesday April 6th 2021

McNabb: Sylvia Frances
Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” for 53 years. Loving mother of Steve (Zoe King) of Toronto, and Tim (Lara McNabb) of Australia. Proud Grammy of Grier, Joy, and Alexander “Xan”. Dear sister of Marilyn (Eion), Catheryn (Allan), and the late Gilbert. Sylvia will be remembered by many other relatives and friends, including her black poodle “Sam”. Sylvia was a Registered Nurse whose 53 year career included work at Civic Hospital and the Medical Centre. An avid gardener and devoted wife, mother, and Grammy, Sylvia’s optimism and good humour cheered all who knew her. Sylvia enjoyed spending summers camping with Bill and their children in their trailer, and later in life enjoyed drumming, mah-jong, visiting her grandchildren in Peterborough and Australia, and a glass of wine each Friday night. Visitation will be held at ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, on Wednesday, April 14th at 11 a.m. Due to Covid restrictions, RSVP is required and may be made at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca Friends are invited to view a webcast of the Memorial Service on Wednesday at 2 pm. Registration required. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
