Obituary of Larry Johnston
JOHNSTON, Larry – Passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 1, 2021 as the result of a fall at his home, at the age of 71 years.
Lawrence “Larry” Ronald Johnston of Pembroke, retired long-time employee of Bell Canada (Expertech). He was the son of the late Reverend Norman (founder of Operation Go Home) & the late Jean (nee Henne) Johnston. Dear brother of Paul Grant of Muskoka and the late Peter Stanley of Ottawa. He will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Larry will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors where he spent many hours.
The family and friends of Larry wish to extend their gratitude and sincere thanks to all those who were there for him during the last 3 weeks, and to the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Pembroke Regional Hospital for their support and compassion.
Respecting Larry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. As an expression of sympathy donations to The Ottawa Mission, Shepherds of Good Hope or Operation Come Home would be greatly appreciated.
