GILMER, Harold William; Passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Hospice Peterborough, at the age of 97. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen Gilmer. Father of Marlene Bridgman (Wayne) of Virgil, and Janet Hogeboom (Graeme) of Peterborough. Grandfather of Kevin (Allison) Bridgman of Toronto, Jeffrey Bridgman of St. Catharines, Julie (Harron) Bridgman of Toronto, Karen (Irving) Jaramillo of Niagara Falls, Allyson Verhelle, of Waterloo and Jonnica (Jeff) Verhelle of Millbrook. Great-Grandfather of Isabella, Eislen, Elke, Jalen, Madox, and Fiona. Predeceased by his brothers Clifford Gilmer, Chester Gilmer, and Ray Gilmer; and his parents Robert and Lulu Gilmer. Harold for many years was an investigator for the Mistry of Transportation. He was a member of the Kinsmen Club, Lions Club, Mapleridge Woodcarvers, Historical Society, and a teacher at Aylmer Police College. The family would like to extend many thanks to Dr. Beamish and the staff of Hospice Peterborough for their compassionate care. Due to COVID-19, services will be held at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to the Westdale United Church (Peterborough) or Hospice Peterborough through the funeral home or online.
