The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on
Wednesday, March 31st, 2021of Thelma Hazel Sweet of O’Leary,
aged 85 years, wife of Winston Doucette. Born in Glenwood on January
20, 1936, daughter of the late Lorne and Eleanor (Ellis)
Betts.
Loving mother to Amy (Vincent) Gaudet, Miscouche; Donna
(Thomas) Smallman, Knutsford; Glen (Della) Sweet, O’Leary;
Grant Sweet, Cornwall; step mother to Theresa (Frank) Bodorkos, Port
Colborne, ON; dear nanie to Nicholas Gaudet (Peter Kemp), Brady
(Rudee) Gaudet, Jonathan (Jennifer) Gaudet, Jeremy Smallman, Tammy
(Billy) McGuigan, David (Erynn) Smallman, Matthew Sweet, Samantha
Sweet (Travis Bowness), Kirstin Sweet, Spencer Sweet, step-nanie to
Mandy (Jake) Michels, Brian (Brianna) Bordorkos and great nanie to
Emmalee, Brooke, Clarke, Gracie, Thomas, Hamish, Sabine, Elly and step
great grandchildren Thomas, Thijs, Jocelyn, Jackson, Violet and
Maverick.
Thelma is also survived by her sister Marjorie Silliker and
brothers and sisters in law Susie Smallman, Mae (Bob) MacDonald, Amy
Platts, Isabel (Winburn) Harris, Betty Sweet, Jean Doucette, Carl
(Nick) Doucette and Eleanor Doucette.
Predeceased by her parents, 1st husband Samuel Sweet, sisters
Mabel Tower, Shirley Matthews and Bertie Gillcash.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel,
O’Leary, due to Covid 19 restrictions, private visitation
and funeral on Saturday for invited guests.
Interment later
in Milburn United Cemetery.
