William Carter April 17, 1942- March 28, 2021
William Carter passed away peacefully early Sunday morning surrounded by family at the Chatham Kent Hospice in his 79th year William is survived by his loving spouse Effie Carter (Brown) of Ridgetown, his children Kim Carter, Bryan (Melissa) Stiefel, grandchildren Chanel (Dan) Feletto, Shae (Raychel ) Gemmell, Nolan Stiefel, Marcus Stiefel and Jennilee Carter and great grandfather to Austin Gemmell. Missed by his siblings Cathy (Dennis) McKinney of Comox B.C., Robert (Emma) Carter of London Ont. and Bruce Carter of Kincardine. Fondly remembered by inlaws, Madeline Altman of Wingham, Diane Carter of Walkerton, Sharmane Carter of Formosa, Don Stockly of NFLD, Abbigail Whey of NFLD. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Millicent Carter, daughter Annette Hewey, Brothers Ernest Carter JR, Anthony Carter, Allan Carter, Sister Lynda Carter, and his first wife Diane Carter.
Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240Wharncliffe Road, South, Lambeth 519-652-2020 on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from noon to 2:00 pm. Due to the Covid19 pandemic and as per the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) numbers for the visitation are restricted. Please call 519-652-2020 to reserve a time to see the family. A private family celebration of Bill’s life will follow. Interment Woodhull Cemetery, Kilworth. The family is requesting donations to be sent to them in lieu of flowers in honor of William. The Family is asking for thought and prayers as they grieve and would also like to thank the Chatham Kent hospice for their compassion and support.
