ROY, Denis J.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce his peaceful death, surrounded by his loving family, at the Pioneer Manor on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by his wife Aurelienne Roy (née Groulx) in 2005. Loving father of Gilles Roy (Ruth) of Timmins, Joanne Hartling (Don) of Schumacher, Francine Landrie (George) of Warren and Daniel Roy (Sheryl) of Timmins. Cherished Pépère to Chet (Anne), Kelly (Jason), Ryan (Tiphanie), Ariane (Philip), Amy (Rick), Tracy (Ravi) and Jared (Liv) and great grandfather to 8 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Lévis Roy (Cathy Taylor) and Arlette Melcher (late Gerry). Brother-in-law of Shirley Roy. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends especially his coffee club friends. Denis will also be missed by his many brothers and sisters-in-law on the Groulx side. Predeceased by his grandson Pierre Roy, his parents Napoléon and Léda (née Savard), his brothers Yvon, Ronnie, baby Lionel, baby Gilbert and his twin brother Gilles and by his sisters Edna Gervais (late Oscar), Bella St-Germain (late Charles), Juliette Gervais (late Damasse), Jeannette Lahaie (late Léo) and baby Gilberte Roy. Denis loved his church and his community of Warren. He was a long time parishioner of St-Thomas Church and was the Reeve of Warren where he gave many hours to help better both the Church and the community. Due to the current pandemic and restrictions, there will be a private family funeral. Interment at the Warren Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements in care of Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Warren.
