Ronnie Leo Ron McCormick Wednesday March 24th 2021

It is with heavy hearts we announce Ronnie’s passing at the Ottawa Heart Institute on March 24th, 2021 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of 51 years to Barbara (nee MacCrimmon). Proud and loving father of Sharon and Kelli of Ottawa. Dear son of the late Dan and Isabel (MacLean) McCormick. Cherished brother of Betty Chisholm (late John) of St. Andrews West. Predeceased by his dear sister Inez Kennedy (John Angus of Alexandria), and brothers John James, Donald Angus, Hughie (Gladys of Alexandria), Bernie (Mary of St. Andrews West) and Allan Ambrose (Helen of Alexandria). Survived by many nieces and nephews, also by Brian McGee (Fay) of Surrey, B.C., and Bonnie Switzer (Bill) of Ottawa.
Ron was immensely proud to have retired as an electrician with the Civic Hospital after 27 years. He was active in many sports over the years and remained an avid sports fan. He very much enjoyed Celtic music. Always ready to lend a hand, share an opinion or two, and make us laugh; Ron will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and many good friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks for all the great care Ron received over the years from the Ottawa Heart Institute and The Ottawa Hospital in particular, all the staff at the General’s MDCU.
Following his wishes, a private family service and cremation will take place. A burial service will follow at a later date.
If you wish, memorial donations may be made to The Ottawa Hospital or the Ottawa Heart Institute.
Death is not extinguishing the light, it is only doing that because the dawn is coming
