Elaine Margaret Hatt 19392021

Elaine Margaret Hatt
1939-2021
Elaine Margaret Hatt of Marriott’s Cove and formerly of Western
Shore.
It is with broken hearts that the family announces her passing on
March 19, 2021. Mom passed peacefully with family by her side at Cove
1, Heart To Heart In Home Care, Marriott’s Cove, N.S.
Born in Gold River, N.S. on August 21,1939, she was the daughter of
the late Frank Sr. and Florence Hiltz.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald “Donnie”;
daughter, Michelle; parents, Frank and Florence Hiltz; sister, Janet
Delorey and brother, Victor “Vic” Hiltz.
She is survived by her son, Todd (Gail); daughter, Candace (Todd)
DeMont; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris), Heidi (Morgan), Danny (Hannah);
great grandsons, Keaton and Kaleb Joudrey; sisters, Rosalie Dorey and
Vale (Fred) Snyder; brother, Franklin Jr. “Bub” (Norma);
many nieces and nephews.
Mom’s family were her life. She was proud of all of us and
loved us all very much. Being with us is what she loved most. She
was kind and caring and always there to help everyone. She always put
everyone ahead of herself. Her famous words to people who went to her
home – “Can I get you something? A coffee or something to eat?
” She never gave up asking until you accepted something. No
one left her home thirsty or hungry.
A special “Thank You” to Lynn and her staff at Cove 1 and
to her girls who sat with mom until the end, 24/7, when we
couldn’t be there ourselves. Also to Dr. Dobek , Dr. Chaisson
and the nurses who attended to Mom during her brief stay at the South
Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Your kindness and caring will
never be forgotten.
A private burial service for immediate family will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to Luke’s Landing, c/o the IWK
