Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother was a doer who championed everything she put her mind to. She was an avid crafter who left mountains of her art behind, as well as a seasoned baker.
One of her favorite activities was working at seniors’ homes in Leduc. She was older than many of the residents at these facilities and always enjoyed making their days brighter.
Known for her lack of filter, she would often surprise us with what she would say, which was usually good for a laugh.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Clarence King and their son Lorne, as well as her parents and nine siblings.
Clarence King passed away a few months before his wife on December 2, 2020 at the age of 91. He was also the last of his family, including nine siblings.
He was a hard worker and animal lover who always had cats, dogs and horses around the farm.
They will be lovingly remembered by their children: Deborah (Mike) and Thomas (Judy); grandchildren: Amber (Jared), Kathleen (Jason), Douglas, and Shawna; and grandchildren: Ava and Hendrix.
A private service will be held at the family’s request.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley Georgina King 2021..
