Obituary of Dorothy Isobel McLaren
We are saddened by the death of Dorothy McLaren (neé Peters) at the age of 101, on March 14th, 2021, at Lanark Lodge in Perth. She was predeceased by her husband John H. McLaren in 1990, and by her sister Barbara Lansing (Peters) from London, brother George Peters from Aylmer Quebec, and by her step grandson James Marquardt from Ottawa. She is survived by her daughter Katherine McLaren and husband Richard Marquardt, from Perth, son Robert McLaren and wife Mary Morrissey from Halifax, granddaughter Kelsey McLaren and husband Jim McAlpine in Toronto, great granddaughter Isobel McAlpine, and by nephew Peter Lawrence and his wife Margaret in Vancouver. She will be missed by her nieces Helen Barnes and husband Ron, Barbara Dell and Elizabeth Dell. Dorothy grew up in London, Ontario, earning a BScN in nursing and worked as a public health nurse at H.B. Beal Technical and Commercial High School. She was an active member of New St James Presbyterian Church in London until she moved to Ottawa in 2007. In 2017 she moved to Perth. She will be missed for her warm and caring nature, energy and curiosity about the world around her. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth. www.blairandson.com
