Aldo Benjamin Tonin
Passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Guelph General Hospital, at the age of 87. Cherished husband of Elvia (Damaren). Loving father of Peter (Laurie Opie), the late Paul (2001), Julie (Mike Klein), and Carolyn. Cherished Nonno of Emily, Benjamin, Sarah, Cameron (Cindy), and Harrison (Kirsten). Dear brother of the late Dino (2020), (Hazel Malott [1975], and friend Rita Hyde), the late Bruno (1997) (Donna Sommerville), Louis (Pam Willis), and Rose (Corado Uliana).
A pillar of strength and steadiness, Aldo was known for his pride in his family, his devotion to his wife of 63 years, Elvia, and his deep faith. His grandchildren were great lights in Aldo’s life, and they will dearly miss the warmth of his presence in their lives.
The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Monday, January 4, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendees must RSVP below and wear a mask upon entering. Due to COVID-19, a private funeral mass for his wife, children and grandchildren only will take place at Holy Rosary Church. The service will be live streamed on the internet via zoom, with link and information to follow for those who request it by contacting info@gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
