BETHUNE, Wesley Elmer “Wes” – passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Thursday, March 11th, 2021 in his 90th year. Predeceased by his parents Wesley Bethune Sr. and Margaret (Franklin) Bethune; brother Franklin “Buddy” Bethune (Carole) of Alberta; brother Douglas (Cathy) of Windsor and sister Cathy Judd (Robert) of Normandale. Beloved soulmate of Elaine Murray of Turkey Point. Loving father and grandfather of Margaret Richard (Robert) of Delhi, daughter Katherine; Patricia Toban (Wayne) of Cape Breton, N.S, their children Alicia Garcia (John), Hillary and Jillian. Wes will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Sharon Ralph (Peter) of Calgary, Beverley Hodgson (John) of Simcoe, Carolyn Hurnacki (Roman) of Simcoe, Janine Bethune of Saskatchewan, Jim (Barb) of Chatham, Donald (Donna) of Tillsonburg, and Norman (Deb) of Renton. Sadly missed by his stepmother Dorothy (Overholt) Bethune. Fondly remembered by Andrew and Shadi Murray, children Beth, Arya, Jasmine and Michael and Heather (Murray) Chwastiak, children Sara, Emma, Kaylee. Due to covid restrictions, a private interment of ashes will be held at a later date. A ‘celebration of life’ will also take place for the Bethune clan when rules permit. Those wishing to donate in memory of Wes are asked to consider the Cancer Support & Resource Program.
