Obituary of Sylvia MacDonald
MacDonald, Hilda “Sylvia” Christina- 79, Cow Bay and formally Sheet Harbour died Monday March 1, 2021 at her sons home after a lengthy illness. Born in Halifax March 2, 1941 she was a daughter of the late Laura “Lena” Harnish and Eben Munroe. Sylvia worked at Oshawa General Hospital as a cleaner for several years. Then moving back to Sheet Harbour she was employed at the I.G.A as a cashier, always greeting people with a smile and a cheerful demeanor. She was a great cook and baker, she volunteered to bake for church functions and other community activities. Sylvia loved animals, especially her cats and dogs. She was a past treasurer of St. Andrews Church, Watt Section. Survived by children Carmen (Marilynn), Cow Bay, Auga (Brian) Bradbury, Oshawa, grandchildren; Corissalynn (Nathanial Kjarbo), Catherine (Lawrence) Logan, Ashleene and Holly Bradbury, brother Delsworth (Charlotte) Harnish, Ontario. Predeceased by husband Henry Cecil, sisters Georda Kenney, Joyce Orman, brother John Harnish. A funeral service was held Thursday March 4 in St. Andrews Anglican Church, Watt Section with a burial in the church cemetery.
