John Blakey Friday February 26th 2021

Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Friday February 26th, 2021 in his 80th year. Loving husband of his wife, Carolyn Joan Blakey (nee Pepper) of 37 years prior to her passing in February 2004. Beloved father of Jacquelyn and her husband Stein, David and his wife Rebecca and Cathryn and her partner David. Proud grandfather of Erik (Titch), Samantha (Sweetpea) as well Liam and Emma. Loving friend to Lola Regunbald and Ida Laszlo. Predeceased by his brothers Walter and Patrick and son of Howard and Mary Elizabeth (May) Blakey.
John was born on October 13th, 1941 in Huddersfield, England and moved to Canada in his youth where he later met his wife and started a family. He worked as a bricklayer like both of his brothers before him and was a devout Huddersfield Town fan, enjoyed old Western movies, loved his family and spending time with his friends.
A small private service will be held at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket on Saturday March 27th, 2021 at 1:00pm. Due to current restrictions attendance will be limited to close family members and friends invited by the family. The service will also be live streamed for those who wish to attend virtually.
