Passed away peacefully, with family by his side after a brief illness at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KGH) on Sunday, February 21 2021 in his 84th year. Predeceased by his loving parents, Kenneth and Gladys Burrows. Gary leaves behind his 3 children, Sean Burrows (Tabitha), Shannon Henning (Tim) and Scott Burrows (Julie). He was a proud grandfather to Justin (Meghan), Jessica, Samantha, Gabriel, Morgan and Ben. Dear Nephew of Harold Willoughby (BC). Remembered with love by his long term partner Brenda Porteous and his Porteous family. Uncle Gary will be missed by Amanda and Danielle Porteous, and Sher Porteous and Peter Robb and Parker Robb, all of whom were so good to him. Greatly missed by all his golfing buddies but his stories will live with them forever. Gary retired from the Whig Standard Advertising Department in 1997 and continued selling for local newspapers until he was 74. Special thanks to Rideaucrest LTC Retirement Home, Riverview floor for their kindness and care since 2019. There will be no service at this time. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, Smiths Falls. Memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a charity of your choice.
