Obituary of Burnie Peter Champis
CHAMPIS- Burnie Peter of Port Colborne passed away at his residence on Monday, February 15, 2021 at the age of 76. Beloved husband and best friend of 55 years to Anne V. Champis, dearly loved father of Joey (Debbie) Champis and Jimmy Champis, cherished papa to Ryan (Ally), Emily, Lindsay, Sarah and Cody, great apa to the apple of his eyes Paisley and Sullivan. Burnie will be sadly missed by his brother Joe Champis, sister-in-laws Kathy Champis and Aranka Papko, nieces, nephews, many dear friends and his in-laws Matilda and Zoli Toth. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Shirley Champis and his brother-in-law Peter Papko. Born in Berzete, Slovakia, he came to Canada to be with his dad in March 1956 with his mom and brother. Burnie worked at INCO for 20 years and then 18 and a half years for Ford Motor Company in Oakville. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
