David was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Sybil Jackson; daughter, Donna Mae Bailer (Ralph).
David is survived by his sisters, Judith Jackson, Keri James; daughters, Penny McLaughlin (Rod), Patricia Lindsey, Yvonne Jackson, Cherri Jackson, Anita Schmuland (Roger), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
David was born in Vancouver, BC. At a young age David’s family moved out to a property they purchased South of Pigeon Lake in a community called Richmond. He helped on the family farm and in 1957 married his first wife Emilia (Penny) Ternes. They had four daughters, Penny, Patti, Donna, Yvonne. David worked seismic and continued to operate the family farm. In 1966 David married his second wife Judith Kempf. They had two daughters, Cherri & Anita. David and his family moved to Red Deer where he worked at the Co-op Feed Mill from 1968 to 1974. David enjoyed curling and bonspiels. He was a member of both the Red Deer and the Lakedell Curling Clubs. Dave transferred to the Wetaskiwin Co-op Feed Mill in 1974 and also served on The Board of Directors for two years. They moved back out to the farm and set up a homestead on their own quarter where they raised cattle and hogs. In 1982 David and Judy were recognized as one of Alberta’s top 20 hog producers. David’s passion was music. He would often get together with friends that played musical instruments and he would sing. In 1997 David gave up farming and moved into Wetaskiwin. From 2000-2010 he drove Taxi Cab for Parkdale Taxi. During that time he persevered and acquired his Class 1 Driver’s License at the age of 72. He spent a little time hauling manure as well as driving dump truck for Schack Industries before retiring in 2010 after his second mild stroke and learning of his congestive heart failure. David continued to live at Kiwanis Kourt until his passing on February 6, 2021 at the Wetaskiwin Hospital.
Cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held at this time.
