Florence’s Obituary
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at home, surrounded by her devoted family in her 100th year, Mrs. Madge Florence Layte.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Lillian Freake; husband, Aaron Layte; son, Milton (Kathleen); sisters, Jessie (Max), Jane (Norman), Ruth; brothers, John Henry (Mary), William (Eunice) and Ronald (Joyce). Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her 10 children, Doreen (Brooklyn), Ronald (Dallas), Betty (Brian), Woodrow (Christine), Shirley (Winston), Mavis (Wallace), Derrick (Debby), Kay (Jack), Rosalyn, Wanda (John); daughter-in-law, Joy. Also left to mourn are 30 grandchildren; 59 great- grandchildren; 11 great-great- grandchildren who loved her so much; brother-in-law, Cecil; sister-in-law, Louise and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home on Saturday, February 6th from 10:30 AM – 12 PM and from 5 PM – 7 PM following COVID government regulations. The Funeral Service will take place from the Salvation Army Citadel, Birchy Bay on Sunday, February 7th at 11 AM for invited guests only.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Birchy Bay will be gratefully accepted.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte.
