Carol Deneumoustier 2021

September 2, 1938 – January 31, 2021
In her 83rd year. Predeceased by her parents, Marguerite and James Wilfred Johnston, by her husband Eugene (Denny) and her beloved daughter Sandra. Survived by her sister Sharman (Robin), and her sons Kevin (Stephanie), Darren (Cindy), and her grandchildren Caitlyn, Tessa and Josh. Carol passed quietly in her sleep after a brave battle and a brief illness.
Born in Owen Sound, and raised in Collingwood and Barrie, Carol finished top of her graduating class of Royal Victoria nursing college in 1960. She proudly served as a birthing unit nurse and delivered more than 100 babies before leaving the profession to raise her own family. Her compassion and empathy for others continued throughout her life, always available to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors in need. Once a nurse, always a nurse.
A lover of bridge and wine. Often at the same time.
A whizz in the kitchen who always had an inventory of pies, cakes, and cookies on hand to share with friend, family and neighbours.
Loyal and dedicated to friends and family alike she will be missed by all that knew her.
In keeping with her wishes, a private family service will take place. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society or to the Princess Margaret Hospital and are greatly appreciated by the family.
