Obituary of Marie Cathrae
It is with deep love and sorrow we announce the passing of our dear mother. Marie Elizabeth Cathrae at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in her 97th year.
A dedicated and loving mother to her 6 children; Roger Dixon (Joanne) of Sarnia, Rae Dixon of Guelph, Marlene Carroll (Gary) of Whitby, Dennis Dixon (Kelly) of Owen Sound, Marilyn Smith (the late Brian) of Owen Sound, Randy Dixon (Marilyn) of Chestermere, Alta. A proud grandmother of her 9 grandchildren; Nicole, Shelley, Meghan, Angie, Carrie, Laura, Matthew, Kayla, Brendan and her 11 great-grandchildren; Taylor, Brooke, Mason, baby Ambrose, Cohen, Olivia, Lily, Johnny, Autumn, Owen and baby Olivia, she always loved and cherished their visits. Born to William and Lottie Cathrae of Bognor on November 2, 1925. Survived by her best friends her 2 sisters, Blanche Sutherland and Carol Parkin (the late Harvey), her brothers Bill Cathrae (the late Shirley), Doug Cathrae (Orla) and the late Ted Cathrae (Bonnie). In keeping with our mother’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A private family memorial service at McLean’s Cemetery, Bognor will take place in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, (519) 376-7492.
