With sadness, the family of Frank wishes to announce his passing on December 24, 2021,after a four year battle with kidney cancer. Frank will be forever remembered by his wife Elizabeth “Liz”; son Adrian (Tracy Wong); daughter Oriana (Michael Lewis); granddaughter Cassandra; two brothers, Giovanni and Alessandro of Italy; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins both in Italy and Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, Attilio and Adelia, and sister Maria Grazia.
At nineteen, Frank emigrated to Canada with nothing but a sense of adventure. After living in Vancouver and Kitimat he settled in Edmonton and established a career as a Boilermaker welder extraordinaire. This allowed him to work all over Alberta and western Canada as well as Cuba and Yemen which suited his adventurous spirit. He also travelled extensively outside of work. His sense of adventure led him to try heli-skiing, sky diving and white water rafting. While in Canada he discovered his passion for hiking and skiing which he continued into retirement with the Rocky Mountain Seniors Ski Club.
Frank had an abiding interest in science and in particular all things related to the origin and expansion of the universe. He believed that “everything is on its way to somewhere.” We know he is continuing his adventure and loving every minute of it.
A Celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Connelly – McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert. Please note government issued photo ID and proof of vaccination via QR code or, a negative COVID test in the last 72 hours is required upon entry.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pilgrims Hospice Society where Frank received excellent care at the end of his life.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Frank Pegoraro 2021..
