Sandra Elaine Smith passed away peacefully in her 79th year on Monday, December 20 after a brief illness. Born on January 18, 1942 to parents Eli and Bertha George. Sandy will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Richard, her children Tricia (Greg McCurdie) and Dave (Linda), her grandchildren Carter and Cailey, and her sisters Donna (late Gary Baird) and Gladys (late Bill Fisher). Predeceased by her oldest son Jim and her brother Ken George. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at a later date in the spring. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus for their amazing care and support for Sandy and our family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
