Doris Margaret Corrigall 2021

Doris Corrigall passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Pennycook; her twin sister Dorothy Sweitzer; other siblings Eileen Mitchell, William Pennycook and his twin Charlie, Doug Pennycook and Jean Williams.
Doris was born in Keppel, Saskatchewan and raised in Medicine Hat, AB. As a young woman she moved to Calgary and began working in the restaurant industry. She opened and managed the first Smitty’s Pancake House restaurant in Canada and took her skills to other notable establishments in Calgary – some of which were the Top of the Sheraton, the Empress Hotel, the Marlborough Inn, the Carriage House and her own Corrigall’s Restaurant. Early in her long career, she was appointed President of the Canadian Restaurant Association. Doris had a love of hockey and in particular the Calgary Flames. She will be dearly missed.
At Doris’s request, no service was held. Cremation was at the Foothills Crematorium and her remains have been interred with family in Vernon, BC
