Thelma Eileen “Kit” Everett
1925-2021
The family of Thelma (Kit) Everett of Island View, NB, sadly
wish to announce her passing on Friday, December 17th, 2021 at Hospice
Fredericton, with her family by her side. Kit was born in Toronto,
Ontario, on December 29th, 1925.
In addition to her parents, Kit was predeceased by her
brother Bruce Kennedy of British Columbia, and her loving husband of
69 years, C. Fred Everett of Island View, NB. Kit and Fred were one of
seven generations of Everetts to establish and operate what is now
known as Everett Family Orchard. Under their care, the orchard began
it’s transition to the present day apple
u-pick.
Kit leaves behind her son Chuck (Wyn) Everett, daughters
Carol Boyle, Lois (Mike) Derrah, Diane (Mike) Richard, as well as
several grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Kit was a graduate of McGill University’s McDonald
College Campus of Agriculture. In the years to follow she worked as a
dietician at the Victoria Public Hospital and the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital. She took great pleasure in her gardens at the farm and spent
many hours sewing, quilting and involved in various community
organizations.
A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu
flowers, donations in memory of Kit may be made to the Chalmers
Foundation, Hospice Fredericton, or a charity of the donor’s
