Obituary of James Michael McCoshen
James “Michael” McCoshen
December 27, 1958 ~December 10, 2021
Mike McCoshen’s family wish to announce his passing on December 10, 2021 just 17 days short of his 63rd birthday.
Michael passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital Palliative Care Unit. It was Michael’s wish to state his death was due to cancer and was not Covid related.
Michael was born in Melfort, SK, the oldest of 5 boys, and moved to Prince Albert with Mom and Dad (Bev and Dale McCoshen) while still a baby. He attended Redwing School and PA Composite High School.
Mike was a simple man with simple needs. He was a tireless worker and worked numerous jobs throughout his working career. He seemed to enjoy working with all people and enjoyed his last job as the maintenance man at the “One Stop” the most.
Mike was fond of all sports but excelled at soccer while a child becoming the first of all the boys to play in the Calgary invitational tournament. He was also an accomplished bowler scoring 300 points in one game over 17 times. Mike enjoyed watching most sports at a high level. Forever a Stampeder, Packer, Blackhawk and Mets fan, he could watch just about any sport except golf!
Michael will be missed by his brothers: Kirk (Samantha), Kelly (Adele), Jason (Darlene); nieces and nephews; and good friends Orest, Curtis, Vince and Rick who were with him in his last days.
There will be no funeral at Mike’s request.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
