Obituary of Paul Douglas Saunders
The death of Paul Douglas Saunders of Rothesay, occurred on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Paul was born in Quispamsis, the son of Elva Saunders and the late Thomas Saunders.
He worked for the Town of Rothesay for 27 years, until his retirement. Paul loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his time with the Town of Rothesay boys. He enjoyed spending weekend outings with his BFF, Kay Carson. Paul will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his mother, Elva Saunders of Quispamsis, he is survived by his two sons; Ryan, and Paul Jr. of Saint John, brothers; Roy, and Stanley, both of Quispamsis, sisters; Mary Hebert (Dennis Jr.) of USA, and Ann Saunders of Saint John, aunts; Jessie Carrie and her son Wayne Saunders, Thelma Flaherty, both of Saint John, Godfather to Matthew Saunders, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Paul was predeceased by his father Thomas Saunders, brother Tommy, sisters; Marilyn Cochrane, Gladys Davis and grandmother Gladys Saunders.

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2 – 8 PM. Funeral Home staff will be available at the entrance to assist with Covid-19 protocol. A Private Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11 AM from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on Paul’s obituary at www.kennebecasisfh.com. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Saint John Regional Hospital – Oncology, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
