Charles’ Obituary
HOLMES, Charles Ernest, 70, Lower Clark’s Harbour, passed away peacefully at Surf Lodge in Lockeport with family by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He loved life to the fullest and was the happiest when he was on the sea. As a well-established fisherman, he lived and breathed for it. He loved to travel the world and enjoy new experiences, especially anything that involved fun. Charlie was also an avid hunter and loved duck and deer hunting every season. Charlie was the proudest of his family and relished anytime they could all be together.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosalie Holmes, his brother, Darrell(Amy) Holmes, his children, Darren (Tanya) Holmes, Tracy (Michael) Holmes-Carbonell, grandchildren, Ashley Holmes (Cody Cottreau), Andrew Holmes, and Chiara Carbonell, his great grandchildren, Caleb and Carlie Cottreau, niece Melissa Holmes and nephew Christopher Holmes.
He is predeceased by his parents Frances and Edgar Holmes of Sandy Point.
Donations in Charlies name can be made to Parkinson’s Society of Canada and Friends of the Cape Sable Lighthouse Society.
A sincere thank you to the staff at Surf Lodge. Even though his time was short there, the entire team was extremely welcoming, warm and compassionate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home and upon Charlie’s explicit request, there will be no formal service or visitation.
Condolences for his family may be left at www.huskilson.net
